Luxury Lace Wigs
We have put together some tips to help you on your journey towards selecting your perfect hair piece. There are many factors to take into account: ease of application, length of time you will be wearing the unit, hair colour, hair length, hair textures etc..
  1. Determine whether you would like a "lace front wig" or a "full lace wig". A lace front wig has parting lace in the front only while back is made from weft tracks (or sometimes stretch lace). A lace front wig can only be worn in a low pony tail because the back of the unit is created similar to a normal wig with adjustable straps. Most lace front wigs can be worn without adhesive or tape. Lace front wigs take less time and are easier to apply than full lace wigs. They are good for those who like to remove their units daily.  A full lace wig is created entirely from lace and can therefore be parted anywhere on the cap. Completely versatile and can be worn in a high pony tail. Full lace wigs must be either sewn on or put on using adhesives and/or tape. Full lace wigs require more time to apply and can be kept on for weeks.
  2. Deciding on your cap type. There are many cap styles available choosing a style is dependent on your preference of comfort and fit. Most prefer full lace wigs with stretch in the middle (cap 6) because it provides a more snug precise fit. While many ladies like the lace front cap with the machine weft (cap 1) back because it is very breathable.
  3. Determining your cap size. Most standard lace wigs have a cap size of medium, and this suits the majority of clients quite fine. However, when custom ordering a full lace wig you have the option of getting the cap made to your specific head size. This allows for a precise fit as long as you provide the correct measurements. For a guide to measuring your head size for a custom full lace wig please refer to our general information page.
  4. Determining your desired hair length. You may use our diagram as a guide to determine generally where hair will fall at various lengths. One thing to remember is that wavy and curly hair textures will look short at the same length when compared to a straight texture. This is because hair length on a wig is based on the fact that every hair on that unit is the set length. So for example if you choose an 18 inch wig, every hair on that wig should be 18 inches (except for the baby hairs and a 5% deviation allowance around the perimeter). Therefore, a straight 18 inch wig will naturally fall longer than a curly 18 inch wig due to the curl pattern.
  5. It is important to take care of your natural hair when wearing wigs or extensions. It doesn't take a lot of neglect to damage your hair. Keeping you scalp and hair moisturized is important.
