Traction Alopecia

What is traction alopecia? It is the gradual loss of hair due to the pulling force applied to natural hair. It generally affects the hairline and circumference of the persons hair.

With all of the various hair styles and styling techniques in todays world our hair goes through so much. We often take for granted how delicate our hair is until it falls victim to the excessive abuse we put it through.

Signs that there may be too much tension on your hailine include:

  • bumps on the scalp at the root of the hair
  • hairline starting to recede
  • head aches from tension of hair

One of the causes of traction alopecia experienced by many women is as a result of weaves, extensions, and wigs that have been adhered using glue. Which is one of the reasons we at Heavenly Lox promote the use of healthier applications of wigs or extensions (in addition to the fact that we don't believe standard marketplace glue is healthy for daily application to your skin).

We offer lace caps integrated with elastic  and adjustable straps at the nape which allow for a healthier application of your wig. It is easy for daily use as it can be taken on and off, but is still secure that you can wear without worry that it may shift as you go about your day.

Whether you are experiencing hair loss or are wanting a protective style as you grow out your hair, our elastic integration caps are a fabulous alternative.
